Parenting Support

How I Work With Parents

Parenting support is not about finding one “right” way to parent. Together, we’ll look at what is happening in your family, what your child may be communicating through their behavior, and what tends to happen in difficult moments. We can also explore how your own experiences, expectations, and emotional reactions may be shaping the way you respond.

My approach combines deeper understanding with practical strategies. We may work on communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, ways to respond differently in challenging moments, and tools you can begin using at home.

As a parent myself, I understand how hard it can be to watch your child struggle, question whether you’re handling something the right way, or feel like you should somehow know what to do.

Parenting can bring up our strongest emotions, biggest worries, and oldest patterns. You may know the kind of parent you want to be, but still find yourself reacting in ways that don’t always feel good or effective. You may also be trying to understand your child’s behavior, support them through anxiety or big emotions, or figure out how to respond in a way that feels right for your family.

You may be looking for support with:

  • understanding what may be behind your child’s behavior

  • responding to anxiety, emotional sensitivity, or big reactions

  • setting limits while maintaining warmth and connection

  • managing your own frustration or reactivity as a parent

  • navigating different parenting styles between caregivers

  • supporting your child through changes or transitions

  • understanding school, social, or developmental concerns

  • breaking patterns from your own childhood that you don’t want to repeat

  • feeling more confident in your parenting decisions

Supporting the Parent-Child Relationship

A central goal of this work is often strengthening the relationship between you and your child. I can help you better understand your child’s emotional needs, identify patterns that may be creating disconnection or conflict, and find ways to respond that support both connection and healthy boundaries.

When your child is also in therapy with me, parent sessions may be incorporated into their treatment. Parenting support can also be provided separately for parents who are looking for guidance around a particular concern or stage of parenting.

School & Collaborative Support

My background in school settings allows me to help parents make sense of school concerns, interpret reports or evaluations, and navigate the IEP process when needed. When helpful, I may also collaborate with schools, pediatricians, psychiatrists, or other professionals involved in your child’s care.
